Prezi.com

Tried of PowerPoint. Try Prezi to present an idea or tell a story. No only does Prezi use Zooming User Interface (ZUI) to zoom in and out and around but also uses narration which gives new life to a presentation--a visual narrative by capturing not only the visual but the audio. You can add videos, pictures, documents to it. Whereas PowerPoint is so linear Prezi's display presentation moves. An example from the Prezi site:

So if you have to do a presentation try Prezi. In a previous ET class we were asked to create a simple one. It was easy and actually fun to do. I did have a problem when creating this...I didn't think to add sounds, ie the clanking of a fire bell or the sound of harnessed horses pulling a fire wagon. It just was not in my thought process because I am so use to using PowerPoint. Prezi lets you think outside the box!

  1. Hey there, just wanted to let you know that I tried accessing your Prezi and the link didn't work for me. Maybe it's on my end, but just in case, you might want to check the link.

  2. I am probably alone in this, but I found Prezi, the zooming presentation editor, exasperating to use. I think it's mostly because my web design instructor at MICA was anti Flash (and Prezi is one cumbersome piece of Flash) and pro AJAX (google maps is a good example of the use of AJAX).
